Have you ever wanted to have a quiet little word with the man who canceled Firefly? Smile

I would love to thank him!

I'd thank him for confirming that broadcast television is on its way out as anything but a niche, nostalgia market, and that his short-sightedness was going to help replace his industry with computer downloads and streams, and direct-to-DVD productions.

I would thank him for taking one for the team, as his job has an expiration date on it.

Now I haven't listened to this yet, but is this a new ongoing podcast, or a one-shot joke.

We produced a number of these short humor segments as pieces for Dragon Page Winging It http://dragonpage.com/. We're releasing them stand-alone to our podcast listeners as a special treat! There should be one-a-day for the next 2 weeks or so.

But it's definitely a joke!

We'll keep 'em coming until the holiday special, which will be on December 21st. Then you get the holiday special itself, just one show in January, and then of course Season 2 starting in February.

So, for the next twelve days, in Fantasy Firefly we will be taking things somewhat less seriously than we usually do! It's time for fun. Laughing

I've checked & the links all look right to me. For how long have you been getting the error? Our host occasionally has problems and if you have any issues downloading The Signal the first best thing you can do is just try and download them a few hours later.

I think Fantasy Firefly is great.

Where can we submit ideas for it?

Interesting question...

The thing is, we're not actually making them any more. With the slow-down of the Signal, our Wingin It segments will have to slow down too. We haven't really made any definite plans yet, but the notion was to replace Fantasy Firefly with something else. But like much of season two, nothing's cast in stone yet.

But ... to answer your question, if we do make more, I'd say the best place to send suggestions would be right here on this thread.

In episode 7 (Reaver Cooking), it was mentioned that there were going to be 5 firefly related podcasts. I know that two of them are the Signal and firefly talk, but what are the other three?

I love to see a fantasy firefly based on "American Idol"

Can you see it now.... River Tam singing "Dream Reaver" (To the tune of Dream Weaver)

If you can persuade Summer Glau to sing on the Signal, you'll be my hero for life. Laughing

I thought for sure you guys would have more contacts than I. Besides she has a new movie called Mammoth. Maybe you can offer her a plug for an interview / Singing clip.

We were referring to the pod-dramas.

But don't get your hopes up. They're a long way off yet. Shows like the Signal and Firefly Talk can be run on the fly, but you can't run a pod-drama until you've written and recorded (or at least, written) the entire series. For this reason, you get a long gap between inception and broadcast.

But worry not. The moment anything Firefly-related is ready to go, you'll hear about it. If you're subscribed to this Signal, you'll also get the first episode of each of these on the feed, so there's no way you'll miss them.

A few boxes of Human Helper wouldn't be on that list of new products would it?

Human Helper, that's something Reavers add to humans to spice up their meals.

The "Earth that was" equivelant can be found here.

I don't get that. Must be an American thing.

Its a takeoff of Hamburger Helper : http://www.bettycrocker.com/products/prod_hamburgerhelper.asp, pre-packaged spicing for burger meat.

Yes Hamburger Helper is a pre-packaged, additive induced, MSG loaded, pre-processed, nutritient deprived, food like substance that is added to ground beef to make a meal.

It's an American thing.

Idea PING Idea

Of course! There's a reference to that in National Lampoon's Vacation. I should have twigged.

Thanks

Human Helper - what Reavers use when they are on a limited budget to make the food go further. Smile
