ok just wondering what you people are looking for in respect to the genre of the majority of the film.
ok, it is true that each episode has the usual mix of funnies, frights and drama.
but as it is a movie version of the show, i have a sneaky feeling that it will fall into one particular genre more than the others, maybe either to keep the flow of the movie more intact???? or to try and avoid thepossibilty of alienating new viewers, by them not knowing if they should be laughing or crying???
i think that for maximum impact humor should be reduced to a minimum to keep the impact of the movie high (even though i feel that joss can be a master at humor), but he is also an expert at plucking heart strings.
what you lot think, is there a place in the movie for every emotion? or should other genres be placed on the backburner the now and left for the next film(s)
sorry for the ramblings

I think it will be a combination, maybe darker than anything we saw on the series, interspersed with scenes funnier than anything on the series as well. Don't forget this quote from Joss:
"I'm very much of the 'make it dark, make it grim, make it tough,' but then, for the love of God, tell a joke." _________________ wo men ren ran zai fei xing |

According to Universal's description, the movie is an action-adventure film. Guess they shied away from the sci fi/western genre. _________________ "May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one." |

| SciFi / Western is just to confusing for people to get. Once they've seen it, sure, then they get it. But I think they'll have more luck promoting the movie as action / adventure. |

I totally agree! My nephews didn't want to watch the dvds when I told them it was a sci fi/western, they just couldn't envision it. _________________ You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle. ~Malcolm Reynolds Our Mrs. Reynolds |
