I wore my "fighting elves" shirt that I wear when ever a big firefly/Serenity event happens today in honor of the documentary.
Hope you had fun! |

Just got back from Friday night's premier screening of Done the Impossible, and it was a lot like listening to The Signal with pictures! After having listened to so much of the audio from the documentary on The Signal over these last few weeks, I was sitting there lip-syncing along with the folks on the screen. It was great to be able to filk along with the Bedlam Bards on The Man They Call Joss.
The auditorium was not entirely full which made for convenient seating and the ability to move to the microphones for the Q&A with the panel of filmmakers. Of course, several of the Browncoats who appeared in the film were present at the screening and were easily recognizable in the audience. Folks from The Signal appeared in the film, but I was unable to spot them in the crowd.
After the Q&A, we were shown a special sneak peak of the features on the upcoming DVD release. The Firefly/Serenity Interactive Timeline feature is so cool! You can view the major milestones along the show/movie's calendar life, and when you click on a significant event, there's a popup screen with embedded video of someone explaining the event on the timeline. And then they showed us something that isn't going to be on the DVD: a montage/music video of Firefly footage edited to fit with Mal's Song sung by Michelle Dockrey. Although the musicians donated their talents to the production of the documentary, they will be able to make a credit or two from the sales of the upcoming soundtrack CD. Shiny!
All in all it was a fine way to end the first evening of Wondercon, and I'm looking forward to other Firefly/Serenity events hosted by the Sacramento and San Francisco Browncoats, who were giving out promotionsl DVDs for Slither, which I am about to watch right after I send this, but that's a different post.
See you in the world,

I too really enjoyed the documentary. It was very nicely put together, and will give you the warm-and-fuzzies. The timeline feature looks very cool.
If you haven't ordered your copy (copies?) yet, do it now!

Good luck with the final tweaks, Jeremy.
