Wow, I was blown away by this conversion story but really I should have been warned that I would need tissues!
There I was at work simply working fine and then next thing I know I am hiding my face because I have tears flowing.
I don't really post on any forums but have been listening to the Signal from almost day one. I love the conversion stories and this one compeled me to post. I know what is is like durring a loss so close and it is amazing how any connection you can make will stay with you for the rest of your days. I doubt this man will ever be able to think on Firefly and not have some sort of connection to that moment. |

It occurred to me while listening that it was the first time I've heard the list of June screening cities read out loud in their entirety. You'd think I would at least have read them out loud to myself, just to hear it. Thanks for not airing my conversion story. It was kinda pathetic compared to the one you got.
One question: Where did you get the clips at the start of the "Tricks from the Training House". It sounded like Moreena Baccarin's voice, but I don't recognize it from any of the official material. |

Oh. Haven't gotten around to checking the extra material yet. DVD release was delayed a week in Sweden, so my big weekend that I had freed up to watch Serenity and all the extra stuff became sort of a lame event. |

First off, I'd like to thank the crew of The Signal for taking the time to give my story such fine treatment. The addition of the music was a nice touch. I sent it simply as another conversion story, and wanted to show that the stories are so good that they really work well even when times aren't so great. They touch on many different levels, different ages, and different cultures. However, I've gotta believe that we all already know that, or we wouldn't be spending so much time on a series that was declared dead so long ago.
Second, I'd like to let Nuchtchas, and anyone else who might have similar thoughts, know that while yes, there is a connection between these shows and that time, Leila was a girl who lived a very tough life in her 3+ years. She had been in and out of the hospital several times because of a heart defect (though oddly enough, it had nothing to do with what finally struck her down), but because of this, she truly enjoyed every ounce of life; laughter, playing, running, stories, princesses, and her cat. She truly enjoyed a good Disney Flik with her dad, posing for photos for her mom, and had no second thoughts about leaving one her imaginary dragons with a loved one so that they could also enjoy the protection and friendship of a dragon. Quite possibly a kindred spirit with Kaylee. She hated for anyone to be sad, and I think she would have been quite pleased with the fact that we could find something to make us laugh even in the wake of her passing (though being only 3, I doubt she would ever have found the need to give it nearly as much thought as I just did. )
Again, thanks guys. It was much more than I could have hoped for.
As always, keep flying. Because at the end of the day, it truly is enough.

Kevin has it right, it's hard to add something meaningful. Well, there's always a risk... Some time ago (30 years or so), I saw a gravestone (not in a graveyard, it was in the yard of a stone mason), and what it said, was not as trivial as most, in my humble opinion. Approximately, it translates "Those who live on in the memory of their friends ar not dead. Only those are dead who are forgotten."
Ok, as I said, it's just my opinion that's worth a thought.

I liked this episode:)
What is the name of the girl who does the fanfiction/forum review?
Some of the names I dont understand right (Im not a native speaker;)
I never played RPG but its always fun to hear about it.....
And , very much indeed, I liked the "reaver" section, very informative...
If anyone got a connection to convention comitees, it would be great to ask them to record interviews and panels (Q&A sessions) from the mixing console. The sound would be brilliant and for all podcasts very interesting, I guess. Maybe someone can do this proposal to them.
Just an idea......

Methinks you confuse the Signal with Firefly Talk. FT does a fanfiction/forum review, not the Signal. That's over at http://fireflytalk.com _________________

Excellent Episode! I listend to the conversion story while on the way home from work..My eyes were tearing up. By the way - Who mixed the Firefly/Serenity music? It highlighted the story's emotions perfectly! _________________ -Samantha

That would be Jill, she is Companion Kate on here, and does a great job with almost all of the background music you hear on the show. _________________ Miranda

This is a quick follow up to my conversion story, and while it has very little to do with Firefly, the listeners have shown such wonderful support, that I felt I owed it to them to at least post this.
Its a beautiful day for many reasons. The sun is out. Its about 80 degrees. I have a 3 day weekend coming up. Mostly, though, I got great news from my sister this morning.
Yesterday she delivered a 7lb 9oz baby girl, Aliya Rose de la Luz Evans (whew, long middle name). Black hair, dark eyes, and small, cute ears. And while we would love her either way, she doesn't seem to have any of the medial conditions that plagued her older sister.
I can't wait to fly out there and meet her.
Keep flying,

The link to this episode is broken on the feed. Can this be fixed or does anyone have the correct link?
Thanks |

I am also getting an error when trying to access that link. I am unable to verify it via another source right now, but I suspect it is correct and the issue might be a temporary one with our mp3 hosting provider - the error I am getting in "access denied" not "file not found". I'll check back later, but this may be a temporary problem that will resolve itself - so I recommend just trying the link again later as well.
