I just finished watching my copy of Done the Impossible and all I have to say is this:
WOW!
This is one of the best put together, fan driven projects that I have ever seen. I work in law enforcement so I keep wierd hours. When I woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon (July 29th) I noticed that my disc had arrived but with getting ready for work I could only watch 15 minutes before I had to leave for work. Those first 15 minutes were enough to get me through 11 hours of work. When I finally got home at 4:30 the next morning I went right back to the TV and finished the documentary. You all did an amazing job! Many kudos to you all and to everyone that was interviewed for the disc. I thought that I was a fan of Firefly. Now I truly know what a fan is after watching this!
Oh and Kari I thought that your interview was fine, you've got nothing to worry about!
Cheers! |

My Done the Impossible DVD and all its shiny extras came yesterday in the mail and it is all that it was billed to be and more! There's the straight out film that does a great job in over 300 fan voices in describing the rise and fall and rise again of our BDHs. There are loads of extras, and on the DVD ROM via the computer there's a very cool interactive system that allows even deeper drilling into individual interviews by fans and BDHs alike. The interactive timeline is the ultimate in keeping all Browncoats up to speed on the details of the Firefly history..I learned a lot! Wow! If you haven't ordered it...do it! It's sooooo damn special! Five stars! _________________ Mark Gorman |

Jeremy, et. al:
I BitTorrented the doc and was impressed.
I got my copy of DTI in the mail...and I'm in love all over again. This little bundle of Browncoat Love absolutely rocks.
After I watched the doc on my DVD, I went over to the computer and (after I realized that I actually had to play it with my computer's DVD player) went through some of the TONS of extras.
Y'all did a wonderful, wonderful job and I thank you.
I hope you are happy with the outcome, and that all of the work was worth it.
By the way, I know that you all have jobs. Have your employers seen it?
I'm curious as to what they think of your "side project".

I received my copy of the documentary and the extra disks in the mail yesterday. I walked in the house, changed cloths and put in the disk. I spent the next 7 hours in Browncoat heaven. *sigh*
Was I the only one who cried multiple times during the documentary? Cause let me tell you, there is some powerful stuff in there. Major props to everyone who not only produced it and contributed to it, but who kept it all alive for all this time - not just the show or the movie - but the best fandom in the world. Man, I'm just still overwelmed by it all.
I wasn't in it all from the beginning. I actually was a holdout until early 2005 and my story is no different than any other holdout out there. One episode and I was done. Heck, my whole family was done. This was the fandom that would change my life. And it has. It has changed the way I view fandoms and television and even life sometimes. But at the heart of all of it - just as with the documentary - the fans and the people are what have made this such a life changing experience for me.
In the past 2 years I have done what I could to spread the love, but not nearly as much as most of you who were there from the beginning have. But I must admit, if I meet a Browncoat - may it be in a theater before the movies and after or online - a part of me loves them instantly. It's like a brotherhood and a kind of bond that no other fandom has. And I have seen my share of fandoms - but there are no favorites here. No character debates, no fush, just love. Resevoirs of love - and as Joss says, isn't that what fandom really should be all about?
I'm babbling, but then again I think I'm still on some kind of euphoric high from marathoning the disks last night. Just wanted to post and say how very much I loved it and the wait was WELL worth it. _________________

I'm in the "wow" section, thankfully! I have just bought a new PC, and after reading a couple of posts on other threads, wasn't looking forward to putting the disc in my DVD tray. I'm glad I bothered!
Thanks guys! For capturing a period of triumph!
I haven't been heavily involved in the overall Browncoat movement, but I've done my bit here and there.
I even recognised some of the tags, given by the fans (musta seen em on firefly.net). Some people might look on at us fans and wonder what the hell was going on. Why spend time trying to bring back a mostly overlooked series. DTI captures exactly why.
The technical aspects of the disc are superb. Just being able to watch the doc how you want to, with the resources available. Excellent! _________________ Discover a lost art, play marbles. www.marillion.com |

Hi folks.... just finished watching the documentary and wow! Very cool stuff.
My hat, or touque eh, is off to everyone involved. Well worth the pre-order $$$.
Thanks very much for producing this.... a nice little Firefly/Serenity fix is just what I need this week.

Thanks for helping fill the void and expand the 'verse! The doc is a wonderful tribute to all who worked hard to create the shows/movies as well as portraying the fans in a great spotlight of their own.
May the Powers That Be realize when people are preordering/buying fan created DVDs, soundtracks of that DVD, fan created clothing, mugs, puppies (ok maybe not puppies) - that we have the purchasing power to get a sequel _________________ "If you want to get laid, go to college.
