Honestly? I prefered the German version.
Since you guys are native German speakers, I have no doubt that the German lyrics are beautiful and perfect.
But the English lyrics ... well, it's like they were translated by Babel Fish. It's just not good English. I mean, phrases like "Simon is from the upper class", or "Sheperd Book ... also kills knee caps", or "he likes to fly through the space in hawaiian shirts". Worst offender is probably "Wash flies the Serenity" (we all know the ship is called "Serenity", not "the Serenity").
Well - you did ask. But hey - I still love the German version.

I like the English version better. Probably because I only knowEnglish. I like the rhythm of the words, I find them almost poetic in the way they come off.

By the way, Jill, how many languages do you speak?
It's not easy to find the right words in a different language. But I guess Kessie is trying to do her best.

All of one, I'm afraid. I certainly do appreciate that anyone who can speak more than one language is more multilinguistically skilled than I.
I wasn't criticising your skills, only commenting on my tastes. I am drawn to complexity. You have complex music - that appeals to me. I also greatly, greatly admire complex lyrical structure, which is probably why my favorite band is Rush. Wheras you might write something like "It was very exciting", Rush write "This magic day when super science mingles with the bright stuff of dreams". It's just a whole other level up. But I'm not criticising you. To say where my tastes lie is not in any way a criticism of you, just a preference of mine.
Instrumentally, your music is absolutely fantastic. I truly, truly appreciate the skill there.

Wow! That would be a great honor. But ... I can't speak German, so how would I know if I've got the translation right? But hey, I'd certainly be up for writing song lyrics if you want me.

I'm just listening to this episode now, but with your topic on 11th hour, let me just note that 11th hour actually did do the cover (and I believe internal artwork) for the super shiny RPG. That's the main thing that confused me about this legal action, is that she actually did official artwork for the 'verse.
Oh, and THANK YOU!!! for the article on medics in roleplaying in the 'Verse.  Not enough people roleplay as medics, in my roleplaying experience. Whenever I roleplay, whether it be the official Serenity RPG, D&D, or some online roleplay, I tend to be the compitent female doc. Street docs *giggles*. Reminds me of a roleplay where my doctor character threatened to switch a patients organs around when he was being annoying....

I had forgotten that! I think I knew it at one time, but I didn't remember it when we were recording that section.
