|
Tales From The 'Verse was mentioned on episode #89 of Michael and Evo's Wingin' It!
www.michaelandevo.com
We placed an ad on their "click grid," and since there are only four on the click grid right now, they talked about each group on the grid.
They were a bit confused on what we are all about, but they did have some nice things to say about the podcast.
Their podcast is not work-safe, and not for those who are easily offended, but it's fun, funny stuff.

Is that Evo THE SPOLIER who was put on trial in season one? I've been meaning to check out Wingin' It for a while. So many podcasts so little time. _________________ Alliance, n. It is, though that particular spoiler happened on Slice of Sci-Fi, not Winging It.
Slice of Sci-Fi now claims to be, and I quote, "Spoiler free since Wash died in Serenity". Unfortunately this is not true. I was listening to last week's episode, and then right out of the blue, in the middle of an interview about the Lost Rooms, came the spoiler that *BLEEP* dies in Angel. Bastards. I'm still in the middle of watching Angel, and I didn't need to know that. There was no spoiler warning, no nothing, it was just right out of the blue. So the way I see it, they still haven't learned. (Though to be fair, I'm sure the Angel spoiler was an accident. Only the Wash one was intentionally cruel).
I guess that if Winging It was factually incorrect about TftV, that gives us all the opportunity to write/phone in and correct them, and generate more publicity for TftV. And for that matter, Strangely Literal could even write in and say "You know what, TftV doesn't do shippy stories, but we do", and get publicity for them too. All good stuff. _________________

That's just simply astonishing. And it reaffirms my belief in not wanting to listen to anything those two guys do. I know, I know; maybe I'm not being fair, but I'm a stubborn Celt, me.

I think they, like my podcast... assume you've watched all of the shows that are over.... spoiler warnings only on things that aren't directly related to the show (like how the Signal does spoiler warnings for their SciFi review but not Serenity and Firefly). _________________ Tabz, Slayer of the Podcasts. |

Pretty sure the infamous "Wash dies" moment occurred in Wingin'it #30.
link to the show in question
They have become much more spoilerific in recent months, with fairly regular discussions of current BSG and Heroes episodes. They have also stopped giving out warnings. Watch out! |

Yeah, Wingin' I and Slice of Sci Fi are not as spoiler-consious as The Signal is.
Wingin' it and Slice of Sci Fi tend to not give out spoiler alerts for shows that have already ended, like Angel and Buffy. They do try to stay relatively spoiler-free for shows doing their current first-runs in the US, like BSG and Heroes. However, the voicemail shows tend to be spoiler-rific.
But yeah, if you are a fan of a particuar show and have not watched all the way through, I'd avoid them until you get done. Sorry to hear that you got spoiled regarding Angel, Jill.
And I have dashed off an e-mail and voicemail comment with regards to the Tales From The 'Verse comments, so hopefully that will get played on the next voicemail show.

Nice correction, Medic. Thanks.
I also sent in an email, but I imagine they'll play yours, gobluegirl, rather than mine, because they prefer voicemails to emails.
I use a script-generated feed of my own device, such that my podcatcher is able to download the regular shows (SoSF and WI) but not the voicemail show. (They're like different shows anyway). So if they play the correction in the voicemail show, I'll miss it. Keep us informed anyway. Cheers. _________________

Yeah but you tell people you assume they've watched those shows. I think the point is Michael and Evo haven't, but I don't really know. I've never listen to either of there shows only know of them from the mock trial in the Signal Christmans special last year. _________________ Alliance, n. Yeah, I heard it, and it's really good. I just want to mention one more inaccuracy though. I am not the producer of Tales from the 'Verse. Much as I'd love to take the credit for such an outstanding 'cast, the real power behind the podcast is Carolyn (gobluegirl), not I. I didn't make that claim in my email to Joe - he just guessed wrongly. _________________

Wow, I've been under a rock or something for the past week. (actually, on vacation, and with an unreliable home internet connection).
Finally listened to the Wingin' it where most of the stuff is cleaned up. Steve, you sounded good.
Yeah, Joe does kind of assume that Jill is the producer. I don't think it's a huge enough thing to send another correction about. I don't do the podcast for recognition, so as long as they've got the fact straight about what we are and what we do, that's fine by me.
