Voting starts on October 23rd, for the best podcasts in many categories. The Signal is nominated in Movies/Films.
We need your help. You get one vote a day, every day, from Oct 23rd until Nov 6th. All the details can be found here: http://www.podcastawards.com.
We're putting some little bonus shows onto our feed, hopefully to keep you a little bit amused during the voting period. _________________

Sounds like bribery to me. Makes me think of Jaynes scene in 'Out of Gas'.
If everyone here votes just 4-5 times then your sure to win. Browncoats are invincible when united. |

Making podcasts is what podcasters do!
And you can only call it bribery if you actually like our shows. ...which is kinda the point, if you think about it!
| gerald wrote: | | If everyone here votes just 4-5 times |
Thing is, we're asking for fifteen votes, not 4-5. One a day, for 15 days. Be obsessed! It's the same deal every year, and the podcasts with whom we are in competition will be asking their listeners for a vote a day too, because that's how the PCPA people count the numbers.
But we, at least, like to give something back. Just a little something to say thank you for your effort. _________________

Just having the folks here vote once a day for 15 days, not 4-5 votes total, might put the Signal in the spotlight where it belongs, but the number here on the forums pales by comparison to the number of downloads that are taken, is why the feed will promote it, now that the Signal is in the final 10 for the category "Movies/Film".
Now, if all of them that download the shiny podcast and take the news to heart, chances are VERY good that the Browncoats will triumph! I for one will be voting early and often. I look very forward to the bonus shows...
JUST REMEMBER THAT VOTING STARTS ON 23-October-2008. Also 1 of many of Tabz podcasts is up as well, "Buffy Between the Lines", in 'Entertainment'. |

Thanks for the word on Marc, had no idea as I blew right past him last night.
Also, I must note, when taking your time to vote, you may see other podcasts that are interesting... I've added "Hardcore History", "Brewing Network: Sunday Session" and "Irish Fireside" podcasts to those that I listen to. Oh, and Marc's too, of course!
I just found the bonus programs that y'all are offering, they can be found if you merely visit the subscription page. |

Today is the last day of voting!

I assume you read The Counterfeit Companion? If you want to know what happened after that, well, I haven't written any more (although I have a plan). _________________

BROWNCOATS KEEP DOING THE IMPOSSIBLE!
The SIGNAL won it's class, sadly Marc Gunn and Tabz didn't, at least not yet. |

The Signal Wins in the Movie/TV category!
Congratulations to everyone at The Signal!
Hm. Should I submit a resume to join the crew so I can be part of next year's fame and glory? _________________ One has lepers. |

| I have a question. In the last reflected signal, it was a segment that was never aired on the signal right? An interview with David Who Dun. Does that mean that there are more like it? |

If there's anything "extra" to be found, you can always find in on our website. That's serenityfirefly.com. Obviously, you are encouraged to visit there from time to time.
Scroll down to the very bottom of that page. The penultimate item listed is "Fantasy Firefly". This is where you will find the David Hwun Dahn interview, and all the other similar stuff we did back in 2005. Its content was not originally deemed appropriate for the Signal! Note that the smallprint at the bottom of that paragraph reads "Disclaimer: None of the above statements are necessarily true." You can download all of these episodes individually, or alternatively, it has its own RSS feed so you can treat it as a podcast. _________________

Yes.
See Show 20 for details and the sticky Looking for New Crew thread.
The more applications the better TBH as we want to be able to pick and choose. Enthusiasm and passion for Firefly if anything more important than buckets of experience. New Crew learn on the job anyway, but a bit of back up evidence to show you have some idea of what you'd be doing would be useful.
(Well, necessary really as we do get some offers from folk who really don't realise what's involved. e.g that they'd have to actually do some work and have at least some aptitude for the role applied for!)
Nick
All apps to go to our usual feedback2008@serenityfirefly.com address please.

I must take exception to the comment that it never aired, I distinctly remember that Ta Ma de Hundan was in the podcast as it was aired. And y'all sic'd a Reaver on 'im, good for you! It'sin the copy that I burned to CD, so it must have been deemed as inappropriate after the fact. |

Was it deemed inappropriate? (Before my time on the crew so I can't comment)
It was certainly a very funny segment from the season 1 period of The Signal (which was back in 2005 to be fair to Dani. I'd forgotten about it as well till it was suggested for Reflected Signals!) that was a thinly veiled dig at Fox executives for doing what they did to Firefly and numerous other shows. Seemed to me to be not a million miles from the truth
Eric is right that it did air, though actually thinking back about it, it must have been part of the Fantasy Firefly mini casts and not The Signal proper (though presented as though it was of course).

I haven't found the sweet little interview, but I think it is on the CD-R that I recorded and called it "The SIGNAL: special bits". I've been busy with other things, so I might be able to find it shortly anyway.
Edit: Nick, you got it in one. Fantasy Firefly episode 1.
What is really interesting is the fact that when Les interviewed Multiverse back in Season 3, the party being interviewed told Les that FOX was full of Browncoats, so WHY, oh WHY, did FOX cancel the show? |
