Loved it, as always, although the review of 'Serenity' was less a review and more of a scene by scene relation of the episode. I was thinking the piece would have more details about she story, production notes, etc.
Additionally, that hospital-based conversion story was priceless. I think a more serious promo could easily be created with pieces of that. |

We weren't responsible for the Serenity review. That came from SciFiDig. This was one person's personal take, and we presented it as such. And on that level, I really enjoyed it.
If we had written a Serenity (the pilot) review, it would indeed have had more details about the story, production notes, etc. We wouldn't have forgotten Badger's or Dobson's names, nor would we have got details like whether or not Simon's profession had been revealed wrong. But SciFiDig had started announcing their Firefly reviews before episode #1 of the Signal had aired, and we would prefer to co-operate than compete, since we are all Firefly fans together. So what you're seeing here is co-operation between Firefly-supporting podcasts, and I think that's a great thing.
And maybe one day we will write our own episode reviews, but for now we're letting other people do episode reviews for us while we turn our attention to other stuff. The Firefly universe is so rich that there is so much for us to explore, and we can't do it all at once, so if other people do some of it for us, we think that's great! |

I enjoyed it, but I found the person who was reading the review had a very dry voice. I caught myself zoning out. Tell him he needs to be a little more animated less monotone.
I have no complaints about your voices, though. Keep up the good work. |

Having heard only signal #1, this special edition and half of #2, I think the signal is doing fantastic work.
However, I think "reviews" like the one in signal se2 really detract from the rest of the program. If the other episode reviews are to the same level of quality, I would suggest not airing them. Unfortunately, I'm listening now to signal no. 2 and I see that you're up to signal 9 already, so there's little chance my comments will have any impact! |

You're in luck. We followed your advice.
The only thing I want to add in our "defence" is that Special Editions don't count as "proper" Signals. The quality of an SE will be lower than the quality of a "real" episode. (And for obvious reasons - if we had have had the ability to make a real episode, we would have done so).
I'm kind of starting to get the impression that you guys would rather have a week with no Signal than a special edition. Is that true? |

i dont believe that to be true
i think a week with nothing would be worse then a week with a special edition....
i actually rather liked hearing some one out side of the signal crew who may not be a die hard brown coat talk about serenity, it was a nice change of pace that i certianly enjoyed
and last weeks SE was fantastic, i would never have found that Jewel interview and i love the e-mails portion, so keep it up
those SEs are listened to and enjoyed... |
