As you probably know, Episode 4 contains a cool interview with Adam Baldwin. If you haven't heard it yet, it's worth downloading and listening to.
What you may not know is that Episode 5 (due to be published on Wednesday August 3rd) contains an equally cool interview with ANOTHER Big Damn Hero.
Remember - you heard it here first. (Unless you heard it somewhere else first! - in which case forget I said anything).
Anyway, the best way to avoid missing out on all these big damn interviews is to subscribe to our feed. Then you won't miss a single one. _________________

Amazon alerted me that the price for the Firefly DVD set (which had been sitting in my shopping cart) had dropped - significantly as it turns out. I expect a flood of people like me getting this now.
I've converted several-to-many co-workers, neighbors, family and friends by word of mouth, sharing and loaning my DVDs. I'm currently Jonesing on firefly as all my discs are with separate people. I need to get another set.
But after finding and viewing first one Serenity trailer, then another, I recently discovered this podcast and have been listening to nothing else for a few days. I am so stoked to hear episode 5 which is calmly downloading in the background. I'll listen to it via my iPod Shuffle while I work.
I have turned nine friends and family by word of mouth and by sharing my DVD set. |

Speaking just from the point of view of a fan, I think both interviews are fantastic, and both provide insight into the characters. _________________ --------------------------------

For those not already familiar with PvP Online, the online comic has created a t-shirt featuring the logo "Joss Wedon is my master now." A potential conversation starter for those interested. They're available on thinkgeek.com, one for the guys and one for the gals.
In the meantime, great podcast. Keep up the good woork.

I just finished reading the second installment of the Serenity comic book. I didn't realize it then, but the Adam Baldwin interview had a spoiler for the comics that he might not even have known.
That's all I'll say. You'll know what I mean when you read the comic. _________________ --------------------------------

Just some feedback on the new episode, whatever you guys did with the encoding or recording with this episode, please go back to what you did before. It was very hard to listen to.
Regards. |

Heh heh heh. I haven't gotten the second graphic novel yet, but I don't think it can be counted as a spoiler if you don't recognize it in advance. I can't wait to figure out what you're talking about.

Is nobody else having trouble downloading these podcasts? No matter whether I right click and save-as or try to listen through ITunes, I get no response. Nor does any webpage load when I go to libsyn.com.
What's going on? |

I'm downloading it now.
I've noticed that odd sites have been acting weird off and on all day. I think there may be a flaky router somewhere on the backbone.
Just keep trying. _________________ --------------------------------

For the record, I believe the problem is that they used "Variable Bit Recording" or VBR. I use a 3rd gen. iPod and this makes the iPod get vary confused how long the recording is, and where you are in the recording. After about halfway through the recording, if you pause and then play, it restarts you at the beginning. This is a vary annoying. If you record it at a set bit rate I believe it fixes this problem. |

I can download the broadcasts okay but I have trouble playing them on what I affectionately call my 'H'-Pod, a generic MP3 player.
Some of the episodes sound 'choppy', as if my headphone cable is faulty; others will only play to about half way (I think only half of the track gets transferred over for some reason).
I've tried converting the MP3's to .WAV files but I can only do that with episode one, all the others give me errors of one kind or another.
Everything plays okay on my PC and laptop but it's a bummer that I can't listen to them on the move.

| I still get a server timeout when I try to download any of the podcasts. It's a mystery to me. |

I think we've identified what caused the problems that some people are having with the encoding. It shouldn't happen from now on. Sorry for the inconvenience.

| For some reason, podcast #5 doesn't download completely for me. It only includes up through the information about Darkhorse printing more comics. I downloaded #4 and #6 fine but #5 was incomplete. I tried it on two different days and got the same results. I really wanted to hear Gina's interview. Any ideas why it would do this to me? |

Hello "Guest",
I just downloaded show #5 from our website and it plays fine on my PC and also when I transfered it to my MP3 player.
Are you listening to the show on a computer or MP3 player? If use are using a computer what is it that you have (PC, Mac, etc.) and what software are you using to listen to the file?
Might also want to login next time so we know who you are.
Take care,

Hi all - Kari here.
So I'm a big dummy and said in the Gina Torres interview that JJ Abrams was responsible for the show "Freaks and Geeks". I was SO wrong! Judd Apatow is the genius responsible for that excellent show. They're both brilliant writers whose last names start with the letter "A"... _________________ Listen to "The Signal"
