AbbyShot Jayne Hoodie
June 20th, 2008

The fine clothing replica makers AbbyShot are evaluating the interest in a new addition - a red Jayne hoodie complete with Jayne’s hat and red dragon tattoo. Looks to be a wonderful clothing addition “if” they get enough interest. So check out their site and share your thoughts:

I’ve always wondered where the name AbbyShot comes from. “During the late 1950’s, Abby Singer was an Assistant Director who began a trend destined to become a key term in the film industry. At the end of a long day of filming, Abby would tell the crew that they would film one last shot… “and then one more!”. Abby got the last laugh here, since by doing this he was letting the crew know it was safe to begin packing up the equipment, thereby saving time and money. Gradually, film production companies around the world were using this “Abby Singer Shot” as part of their filming parlance – often times without even realizing that it originally referenced a real person! We also feel that by offering movie-inspired clothing to the public, that we’re giving them “one more shot” to experience something special from their favourite movies.”

Dark Horse - Lunch Boxes
December 12th, 2007

Dark Horse has beautiful Serenity and Fruity Oaty Bar lunch boxes in the works to be released March 12, 2008 for $14.99. With the Serenity logo in brilliant litho-printed color on one side, and the ship herself on the other, bordered by the exotic intergalactic currency created for the film, this makes a striking lunch box for any Serenity fan to tote around.

I don’t know if I’ll be storing lunch in these works of beauty, but they would be fun for storing a lot of my Firefly collectibles.

Greg Edmonson - new Firefly-esque music

Greg Edmonson, the composer for Firefly, has created music for Sony’s game “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” that takes players on a graphically enticing quest for treasure. What makes this even more enticing, is the type of music Greg has composed.

“The game team at Naughty Dog, the company that made the game, let me do Firefly-esque music throughout and spent the money for awonderful orchestra as well. If you know any people who are gamers and Firefly fans they may want to check this one out,” said Greg Edmonson.

Browncoat Cruise - New VIPs & Cabins
October 21st, 2007

In the spirit of never say never, we have some truly wonderful news. Guess who’s joining us on Browncoat Cruise? That would be Mr. Jonathan Woodward who played Tracey on the Firefly episode “The Message” and also appeared in Buffy and Angel! Jonathan called this morning and is excited to be partying with us on the high-seas. We welcome him and his unique brand of fun. Thanks Jonathan!

But he isn’t alone. The illustrious blues musician Sonny Rhodes, who performed the Firefly theme song, is joining us for his very first Firefly fan event. Sonny, who never alters an event, rescheduled a concert so he could be part of our experience, meet the Browncoats and perform for us.

So if you have a friend who was looking for another reason to join us, and wants to help us get back into the black, remember we have a handful of cabins available that we expect to go fast. Please contact us immediately if you are interested in joining our newly improved cruise.

Since we are a bit in the red, we are still accepting donations to help cover the costs of these new guests. As a thank you, everyone who donates or has donated can have their name printed in our Souvenir Book if they wish. Thanks! :-)
